The film is set to hit theatres on August 14

The trailer of Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth, was launched on Saturday. During the event, Rajinikanth recalled the days when he worked as a coolie before entering the film industry. He shared a personal anecdote. The superstar said he had once been ridiculed for working as a porter.
The trailer of Coolie was released at a star-studded event. Ahead of the release, the makers organised a grand event titled Coolie Unleashed. At the trailer launch, the superstar spoke candidly about the film like never before.
"One day, someone asked me to load luggage into his tempo and paid me Rs 2. His voice sounded familiar. I realised he was a former college mate of mine whom I used to mock. He said, ‘You used to be so arrogant back then,’ and he mocked my job. That was the first time in my life I broke down and cried," he recalled.
Rajinikanth called director Lokesh Kanagaraj as the real hero of Coolie. “The real hero of Coolie is none other than director Lokesh Kanagaraj. One of the most successful commercial directors has teamed up with me. Bringing together an amazing star cast, he has created a storm,” Rajinikanth added.
Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan play key roles in the film. The lyrical video of the song Powerhouse, released a few days ago, was well received by fans. Anirudh has composed the song boosting Rajinikanth’s mass appeal.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, Coolie features stunt choreography by Anbariv and cinematography by Girish Gangadharan. The film is set to hit theatres on August 14.
The trailer offers a glimpse into the gritty world of crime and smuggling, with Rajinikanth making a striking entry as an ageing smuggler. It also reveals, for the first time, brief glimpses of the characters played by Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan.
