Thiruvananthapuram: Social activist Rahul Easwar has alleged harassment by the Women's Commission and the Youth Commission for expressing his opinions. Speaking in Thiruvananthapuram, Easwar claimed that the commissions were biased and unwilling to hear his side of the argument.

Easwar accused the commissions of acting on a complaint filed by an organization named Disha, which led to a case against him. He stated that the commissions are pursuing personal agendas rather than ensuring justice. Easwar specifically mentioned actress Honey Rose, claiming she had realized the "untruthfulness" of her complaint against him and criticizing the commissions for their actions.

Announcing his plans to advocate for a Men's Commission, Easwar said the campaign would begin on January 30. He argued that it has become "very easy to trap men" and that there needs to be an end to such practices. Easwar added that he is preparing a petition for the establishment of a Men's Commission, which will be submitted on January 21.

He revealed that he has already had initial discussions with politicians like Eldhose P Kunnappilly and Chandy Oommen, with Kunnapally assuring him of introducing a private bill in the Kerala Assembly. Easwar emphasized that his petition would be formatted in line with Supreme Court guidelines.

Criticizing the current approach of the commissions, Easwar said, "Those who file complaints are not survivors; they are complainants chasing personal policies and commissions." He urged for a balanced approach to address issues of gender justice. The announcement has sparked debate, with many questioning the necessity of a Men's Commission and others supporting Easwar's call for gender parity in addressing complaints.

Following Honey Rose's complaint, the police had previously arrested businessman Boby Chemmannur, who was later released on bail. After Boby's arrest, Rahul Easwar made further controversial remarks about Honey Rose on TV channels. He criticised her clothing choices and suggested that she should be subjected to a social audit.
