A viral claim on social media alleging that filmmaker Quentin Tarantino was killed in an Iranian airstrike on Israel has been officially debunked, with sources confirming that the Oscar-winning director is alive and safe.

The rumour spread rapidly on X earlier this week after a post from an account with over 100,000 followers falsely claimed that Tarantino, his wife, and children had died in a missile strike. The post also attributed the information to entertainment outlet Deadline, which later clarified that it had not published any such report.

Entertainment news platform TMZ also confirmed that the claim was false. A source close to the filmmaker stated, “Quentin is alive and well, and his family is all good too.”

Along with the death claim, several photos and videos circulated online showing Tarantino allegedly taking shelter in a bomb shelter in Israel. These visuals were later identified as AI-generated or digitally manipulated content.

Many of the posts spreading the misinformation were flagged as fake by Grok, the AI chatbot integrated into the X platform. Fact-checking efforts confirmed that the images and claims were not authentic.

The false reports emerged amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following military exchanges between Iran and Israel. Social media activity increased after recent missile and airstrike developments in the region, leading to the spread of unverified claims.
