Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who will next be seen in Blessy's survival drama 'The Goat Life', revealed that he met the crew members of the recently released Hollywood movie 'Dune 2'. The actor said he met the Dune's cinematographer and VFX supervisor while shooting his film in a desert in Jordan.
During a promotional event for the upcoming film, Prithviraj revealed that they unexpectedly encountered Dune's crew in a location known as Wadi Rum.
"We have heard people say that the visual palette of our movie looks like Dune. While shooting in Wadi Rum, we met Dune's cinematographer and VFX supervisor. They were scouting the location for their movie...," he said.
The meeting took place right after the Malayalam crew wrapped up the shooting of Adujeevitham. The actor revealed that the Hollywood crew was scouting the location.
This revelation comes at a time when fans have been drawing comparisons between the cinematic elements of 'The Goat Life' and the grandeur of big-budget Hollywood productions. The film's stunning visuals revealed in the trailer bear a striking resemblance to desert scenes from Dune 2, the American epic science fiction film helmed by Denis Villeneuve, released earlier this year.
Produced by Visual Romance, "The Goat Life" also features Amala Paul, K.R. Gokul, as well as Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean-Louis and Arab actors Talib al Balushi and RikAby in pivotal roles.
Based on the 2008 bestselling novel "Aadujeevitham" by Benyamin, the film follows Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer who finds himself forced into slavery as a goatherd in the secluded farm of Saudi Arabia.
Academy Award winners A R Rahman and Resul Pookutty have given music and sound design, respectively. The film is set to release in theatres worldwide on March 28.
