“Veteran actor Prakash Raj has once again stirred the political pot, taking a pointed swipe at Telugu cinema’s top stars for their glowing endorsements of the latest release, Dhurandhar 2.

Known for his outspoken socio-political stance, Raj took to social media to question the motives of stars such as Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, and Allu Arjun. Quote-tweeting a list of actors who had praised the film—including Vijay Deverakonda—Raj remarked bitingly: “Signs of obligations are spreading south too… #justasking.”

The comment suggests that the industry's heavyweights may be facing external pressure to support specific narratives. This follows high-profile tributes from the likes of Jr NTR, who saluted director Aditya Dhar for his "fearless vision," and accolades from Ram Charan and Sidharth Malhotra.

Raj is no stranger to such confrontations. He recently criticised The Kerala Story 2 for its divisive themes and condemned Kangana Ranaut’s "anti-national" labels directed at AR Rahman. Whether this latest "obligation" claim triggers a formal response from the Hyderabad elite remains to be seen, but it has certainly reignited the debate over the intersection of Indian cinema and political influence.
