The much-awaited second single from Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Coolie’ has finally dropped, and it’s already making waves. Titled ‘Monica’, the upbeat track composed by Anirudh Ravichander was released on Friday and has quickly become the centre of fan discussions online. Featuring dazzling visuals and high-energy choreography, the video showcases Pooja Hegde and Soubin Shahir dancing atop a massive cargo ship surrounded by scores of dancers.

While Pooja brings glamour and precision to the screen, it’s Soubin’s surprising burst of energy and unexpected dance flair that has captured the internet’s attention.

Soubin’s dance gets social media buzzing

The song, sung by Suhashini and Anirudh, was widely praised for its infectious beats and vibrant production. However, it was Soubin Shahir who ended up dominating online conversations, with fans expressing disbelief and delight at his explosive moves. One fan joked, “When that shy guy finally decides to hit the dance floor,” perfectly summing up the general reaction.

The video, which takes place aboard a giant cargo ship, features Pooja leading the choreography with confidence and charisma.

Adding an extra layer of intrigue, the song reportedly nods to Italian actress Monica Bellucci, making the title more than just a catchy name.

Anirudh delivers another party anthem

Anirudh Ravichander, who previously composed ‘Chikitu’, the film’s first single, has once again delivered a high-octane number that seems tailor-made for dance floors. Sharing the track on X, he wrote, “#Monica is here to rock the dance floor!”

Fans have been quick to respond, flooding social media with praise for the music and choreography. The track marks another hit for Anirudh, who has become synonymous with mass appeal soundtracks.

Star-studded line-up and big box office clash

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Coolie’ is one of the most anticipated films of the year, boasting a stellar cast including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR and Monisha Blessy. The film also features a cameo by Bollywood star Aamir Khan.

Set for release on 14 August, ‘Coolie’ is poised to clash at the box office with another major release, ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani.
