Kollam: The Pallithottam police have registered a case against Malayalam director VK Prakash following a complaint from a young story writer. The case, filed under Section 354A of IPC , was initiated after the complainant's statement was recorded. The writer alleges that she was invited to a hotel in Kollam under the guise of a story discussion, where she was subjected to sexual harassment by the director. She also claims that Prakash had sent her Rs 10,000 to remain silent about the incident.

The writer submitted her complaint to the special investigation team on Monday. Her statement was recorded on Thursday after a senior female IPS officer arrived in Kollam. Sources suggest that the allegations against VK Prakash are severe. After completing the statement, the Pallithottam police registered a case against Prakash.

The FIR will be handed over to the special investigation team on Friday. It is anticipated that the team will soon take further actions, including a confidential statement from the complainant.

According to the complaint, the incident allegedly took place around two years ago at a hotel in Kollam. The writer reports that Prakash attempted to hug and kiss her forcibly. Alarmed by the situation, she pushed the director away and fled the hotel.

In response, VK Prakash has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Kerala High Court, asserting that the allegation is false and an attempt to extort money. Prakash also claims that another producer had previously lodged a complaint against this writer, which led to a case being filed.

Prakash further alleged that the writer had sent semi-nude photographs of herself via WhatsApp and provided screenshots as evidence. In his petition, he mentioned that he had also lodged a complaint with the DGP and the special investigation team regarding this issue.
