Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, 'Benz' is the first LCU film not helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself, though he is involved as producer.

Malayalam star Nivin Pauly has wrapped up filming for the much-awaited ‘Benz’, solidifying his major entry into Tamil cinema and, more sensationally, the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). On Saturday, Pauly took to social media, sharing moody behind-the-scenes photos with the cryptic caption, “Darkness Loading…,” tagging LCU mastermind Lokesh Kanagaraj, director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, and the production teams. The post instantly set the internet abuzz, confirming that Pauly’s menacing new avatar, Walter, is now officially a part of the LCU’s expanding mythos.
‘Benz’ is helmed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, known for ‘Remo’ and ‘Sulthan’, and stars Raghava Lawrence in the titular role. The project stands out as the first LCU film not directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, though the filmmaker remains actively involved as producer and creative supervisor, ensuring the film’s narrative fits seamlessly into the interconnected world established by hits like ‘Kaithi’, ‘Vikram’, and ‘Leo’. Music is by Sai Abhyankkar, and the film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Goutham George and editor Philomin Raj.
Pauly’s transformation into the gold-laden antagonist Walter has drawn enthusiastic reactions from fans, who are already speculating about dramatic showdowns and possible links to characters like Leo and Rolex. With its shoot completed amid high secrecy and mounting anticipation, ‘Benz’ is positioned as one of Tamil cinema’s most awaited crossovers.
