A new video featuring Pakistan’s controversial cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi has gone viral, drawing massive backlash for his remarks involving Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her husband Abhishek Bachchan.

In the circulating clip, Mufti Qavi can be heard claiming that if Aishwarya and Abhishek were to separate, the former Miss World would “send a marriage proposal” to him. He further adds that he would convert her to Islam and rename her Ayesha Rai.

During the interview, Qavi says he has “heard there are issues” between the star couple and that they “might get separated.” While he says he prays for their marriage to remain intact, he follows it with the shocking remark, “If they get separated, then Aishwarya will send a proposal to me.”

When questioned by the host on how he could marry someone from another faith, Qavi referenced Rakhi Sawant, saying she accepted Islam and became Fatima.

When asked whether he intends to convert Aishwarya before marrying her, Mufti Qavi responded, “Bilkul! Aishwarya Rai ka aisa khoobsurat Ayesha Rai likhenge, maza aajayega.”

The comments have sparked widespread anger online, with netizens calling out the cleric for making inappropriate and unsolicited remarks about a public figure. Many social media users labelled his statements “disrespectful,” “distasteful,” and “attention-seeking.”
