The actress opened up about her relationship and marriage plans during her appearance with Varun Dhawan on the third episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9, hosted by filmmaker and producer Karan Johar. Her brother, Arjun Kapoor, also made a surprise appearance.

When asked when she planned to get married, the actress gave a straightforward response: ‘Not for another two-three years for sure.’

Her answer made it clear that, despite being certain about her relationship, she is not looking to rush into marriage.

The Peddi actress also said she and Shikhar are in a good place, even as those around them navigate relationship troubles.

Janhvi Kapoor calls Shikhar Pahariya her endgame

Beyond the wedding timeline, she also addressed speculation about her relationship with Shikhar, an industrialist, confirming they are together.

The actress admitted she often wondered why celebrities felt compelled to keep their relationships completely out of public view.

While she remains wary of inviting nazar and does not intend to disclose every detail of her private life, she believes excessive secrecy is unnecessary.

Kapoor said she finds it ‘boring to tiptoe around’ a relationship just to keep it out of public view.

When Johar asked whether she considered Pahariya her endgame, the actress made her position clear.

She explained that her confidence comes from the consistency he has shown throughout their relationship, including during periods when they were not romantically involved.

For the actress, one of the most significant examples of that commitment dates back to the death of her mother, actor Sridevi, in 2018.

How Shikhar stood by Janhvi after Sridevi's death

Recalling one of the most difficult periods of her life, Kapoor revealed that Pahariya was studying in London when Sridevi died.

Although the two were not dating at the time, he took approximately half a semester off and travelled to Mumbai.

She said he stayed at a nearby friend's house so he could be available if she needed support. She said she was not meeting him every day then and learnt about the extent of his efforts only later.

She said that gesture reflected the dependable presence that has strengthened her faith in him over the years.

Her account offered a glimpse into why she sees a long-term future with Shikhar.

For the actress, their bond is defined not only by their romantic relationship, but also by the support they have given each other through difficult phases.

Busy film schedule keeps marriage on the back burner

While Kapoor has expressed confidence in her relationship, her professional commitments also point to a packed period ahead. The actress has several projects lined up, with multiple films expected to keep her occupied in 2027.

Her upcoming slate includes Raj Mehta's ‘Lag Jaa Gale’, featuring Tiger Shroff, Vidyut Jammwal and Tabu; Dhruv Vikram's Tamil film ‘Jackie’; and Atlee's ‘Raaka’, which also stars Allu Arjun, Deepika Padukone and Rashmika Mandanna.

She is also shooting Umesh Bist's untitled romantic thriller, co-starring Sreeleela and Siddharth Gupta.

With these commitments, marriage is clearly not an immediate priority for the actress.

Although Kapoor has not announced a wedding date or disclosed any concrete arrangements, her comments offer the clearest indication yet of her current plans.

For now, the actress appears content to let her relationship with Pahariya evolve without rushing towards the next milestone.

If her timeline holds, wedding bells are unlikely to ring for the couple before the next two to three years.
