Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has addressed Annu Kapoor’s controversial comment about her appearance, choosing to focus on her work rather than engage with remarks that could distract her from her career. 

In an interview with NDTV, Tamannaah said creative professionals need to learn to distinguish between what deserves their attention and what is best left aside. She also pointed out that giving too much importance to certain comments can make it harder to move forward.

“I think that as a creative person, our most important task is to listen. And when we listen, what we keep and what we filter is very important to understand. And because you are also a woman, you can understand that if we start giving importance to such things, then perhaps we will be able to move forward in life,” she told.

The actor made it clear that her attention remains on the projects she wants to pursue and the work she hopes to create.

“So I don’t even see these things. I focus on my work. I focus on what I want to make. I focus on my acting career,” she added.

Tamannaah also described her approach to acting as something she wants to pursue with a sense of purpose, saying she hopes her work connects with audiences because of the intent behind it.

“And genuinely, according to me, I want to do my work like a service. And I do that. And maybe that’s why it reaches people, because somewhere it comes from the right place,” she said.

What did Annu Kapoor say about Tamannaah Bhatia?

The controversy dates back to 2025, when Annu Kapoor appeared on an interview show hosted by Shubhankar Mishra. During the conversation, Kapoor was shown a clip of Tamannaah performing to Aaj Ki Raat from ‘Stree 2’. After the host praised the actor, Kapoor commented on her appearance and used the phrase “dudhiya badan” (milky body).

He subsequently described his remarks as a blessing, referring to the song's effect on children and their sleep.

“She is the reason why kids sleep with her song, with her milky face and body, if she is making our children sleep sweetly, it’s very good, man… It will be a great blessing for this country that our children get a good and healthy night’s sleep,” Kapoor said.

Tamannaah made it clear that she intends to keep her attention on her acting career and the work she wants to bring to audiences.
