The song ‘Kunjaan Thumbi…’ from the Malayalam film Magic Mushrooms has been winning hearts with its warm, school-life nostalgia. Filled with memories of slate pencils, chalk dust and carefree childhood moments, the track beautifully captures the innocence of student days. Sung by Khadeeja Nadirshah, daughter of director Nadirshah and Vineeth Sreenivasan, the song has already received an enthusiastic response from listeners.

Directed by Nadirshah and starring Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the lead, Magic Mushrooms hits theatres today. Early buzz suggests the film is a family-friendly comedy rooted in contemporary themes. The trailer, teaser and songs have all been well received. Akshaya Udayakumar plays the female lead. The film is produced by Ashraf Pilakkal under the banner Manchadi Creations, with story, screenplay and dialogues by debutant Aakash Dev, and distribution by Bhavana Release.

Earlier songs from the film have also drawn attention, including ‘Aarane Aarane…’, sung together for the first time by K. S. Chithra and Rimi Tomy.
