A hit-making duo returns as Nadirshah and Vishnu Unnikrishnan come together for ‘Magic Mushrooms’, a fun-filled family entertainer releasing in theatres on 16 January

Director Nadirshah and actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan are teaming up once more for their new film, Magic Mushrooms, which arrives in theatres on 16 January. The pair, whose earlier collaboration Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan received warm appreciation from audiences, return with a project that aims to offer a cheerful, entertaining and family-friendly experience.
The makers describe Magic Mushrooms as a delightful and feel-good family entertainer. Akshaya Udayakumar features as the female lead. The production is backed by Ashraf Pilakkal under the banner of Manjadi Creations. The film’s story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Aakash Dev. Bhavana Release is handling distribution responsibilities.
The first-look poster, designed in a 3D caricature style, attracted considerable attention when it was unveiled, helping to build early anticipation for the film.
Magic Mushrooms features contributions from a long list of celebrated artistes. Shankar Mahadevan, K. S. Chithra, Shreya Ghoshal, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Jassie Gift, Ranjini Jose, Rimi Tomy, Hanan Shaah and Khadeeja Nadirshah have all rendered songs for the film. Their involvement adds notable musical depth to the project.
Principal photography for Magic Mushrooms was carried out in Thodupuzha, Erattupetta and Ottapalam. The visual tone of the film has been crafted by cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev. Editing duties are handled by Johnkutty, while production design is by M. Bava and Shiji Pattanam. The music for the film is composed by Nadirshah.
