London: In the wake of a viral scandal involving a kiss cam moment at a Coldplay concert, frontman Chris Martin has confirmed that the band will continue to feature fans on their Jumbotron during shows. The decision comes despite the awkward and widely discussed incident involving former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot, captured sharing a tender moment on the big screen.

Addressing the audience during the Music of the Spheres World Tour stop in Kingston upon Hull, England, Martin acknowledged the incident but underscored the band's commitment to the fan engagement tradition. “Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade,” he remarked, signalling that Coldplay will not be discontinuing the interactive Jumbotron feature anytime soon.

Martin clarified that the Jumbotron is not a typical kiss cam designed to provoke such moments but rather a way to connect with the audience. “It’s about meeting some of you," he said, expressing gratitude toward fans who returned to support the band despite the controversy. He also sent his best wishes to the couple caught up in the viral moment, hoping they remain at ease with the attention.

The Coldplay frontman’s remarks come as the band pushes forward with their global tour, ensuring that fan experiences remain a highlight of their live shows. By choosing to keep the kiss cam, or as Martin puts it, the “fan cam,” in place, Coldplay leans into the unpredictable nature of live performances and the genuine connections that come with them.
