
Malappuram: ‘Only those who were blocked once in life tasted victory’, this is a popular dialogue in the recent Malayalam film ‘Operation Java’. This dialogue of the main character expressed the emotion of the unemployed youth. Actor Lukman who played the character has turned a COVID warrior in his native place amid the second wave of coronavirus.
Lukman acted in many movies including ‘Sapthamasree Thaskara’, ‘KL 10’, ‘Sudani from Nigeria’, ‘Godha’ and ‘Ajagajantharam’.
As lockdown interrupted the film shootings, the young actor has dedicated his time to social service.
He has become a real-life star in his village by serving the people. Supplying medicine and food to people in his ward and nearby wards, disinfection of houses and distribution of food kits to the starving are the major services carried out under Lukman.
“ Please don’t consider me as an actor while rushing to help the COVID hit people,” said Lukman who is a member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) in his ward. His friends in the club named Surya are also working with him as COVID warriors.
30-year-old Lukman is the son of Koladikkal Avaran and Haleema in Alankode panchayat.
Surya club members including Lukman have been distributing food kits to the needy after raising fund from NRI friends through a WhatsApp group.
Lukman made his acting debut after completing his graduation in engineering.His upcoming movies are ‘Aanaparambile Aarattu’, ‘World Cup’ and ‘Naradan’.
