Mathrubhumi achieved yet another milestone on June 21 when it picked up the silver at the prestigious Wow Awards Asia 2025 for Kappa CULTR. The marquee event was recognized in the highly competitive "Music Festival of the Year (above 10,000 attendees)" category.

The 16th edition of WOW Awards Asia, a premier platform honouring excellence in Experiential Marketing, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and Live Entertainment, saw Kappa CULTR emerge as a top contender.

A formidable jury comprising over 100 industry pioneers meticulously reviewed 83 entries before shortlisting the finalists. Kappa CULTR stood shoulder-to-shoulder with other major events for the coveted award, including Sunburn Goa 2025, The Hindu's Food and Music Festival 2024, the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival, Echoes of Earth, and Z Events' Navaratri 2024 bash.

Held annually at the picturesque Bolgatty Palace grounds in Kochi, Kerala, Kappa CULTR is celebrated for its immersive experience, bringing together artists from around the globe. The three-day extravaganza transforms the venue into a vibrant hub where the worlds of music, art, fashion, food, and adventure spectacularly collide. It offers "a mind-blowing experience of art, culture, talks and banger music," catering to diverse audiences, whether they are fans of live music, visual arts, or simply seeking a vibrant cultural immersion.

This year’s festival focused on electronic music, particularly the various subgenres of house and techno music. The lineup featured 28 artists—eight international and twenty-one homegrown—who have all made their mark in the global electronic music scene.

The international acts at CULTR 2025 were all global sensations in the house and techno world. Victor Ruiz (Brazil), Giorgia Angiuli (Italy), Hannes Bieger (Germany), Roman Kyn (France), Maksim Dark (Russia), Olympe4000 (France), Glafira (Russia), and Cassiim (United Kingdom). They brought their entrancing beats, sounds, and textures to the festival, setting the stage for a truly global experience for attendees.

The 2025 edition of the WOW Awards Asia featured an extensive range of 106 award categories, divided into five distinct groups: Music Festival of the Year, Experiential Marketing Awards, Experiential Celebrations Awards, Experiential Tech Awards, Hotel & Venue Awards, and Live Quotient Awards. These categories are designed to honor outstanding achievements in creativity, event execution, technological advancements, venue excellence, and overall live experiences, celebrating the very best across the industry.
