Kangana Ranaut's highly anticipated film Emergency has finally cleared a major hurdle as Zee Entertainment, co-producer of the film, has agreed to the cuts suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film, which has been in the midst of a battle with the censor board, will soon be released, with an official announcement expected shortly.

On Friday, Zee Entertainment informed the Bombay High Court that they have accepted the CBFC's recommendations and made the necessary edits to the film. The movie will now be submitted to the CBFC for final approval and certification. The board is expected to issue the certificate within two weeks after verifying the cuts.

Earlier, the senior counsel Sharan Jagtiani, representing Zee Entertainment, confirmed in court that the film is now ready to move forward, while senior counsel Abhinav Chandrachud, representing the CBFC, reiterated that once the revised film is submitted, the certification process will be swiftly completed. A division bench of Justices B P Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla accepted these statements and closed the petition filed by Zee Entertainment.

Kangana Ranaut herself took to Instagram to share the exciting news, announcing that Emergency had received its certification and that the release date would be revealed soon. In her Instagram story, she expressed gratitude to her fans for their patience and assured them that the wait for the film would soon be over.

The biographical drama, in which Ranaut portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was initially slated for a September 6 release. However, it faced delays due to objections from Sikh organizations and revisions requested by the censor board. Ranaut, who directed and co-produced the film, had previously accused the CBFC of delaying certification for political reasons.

Now, with the certification in place, the release date for Emergency is expected to be announced soon, bringing an end to the controversy surrounding the film's release. Fans of the actress are eagerly awaiting the new date, as the film promises to offer a gripping portrayal of one of India’s most tumultuous political periods.
