Who is Satish Parasaran?
Satish Parasaran is the son of K Parasaran, who served as India’s Attorney General between 1983 and 1989. He is also related to actor and politician Kamal Haasan through marriage, making him a nephew of the veteran star.
The lawyer has frequently represented Kamal Haasan and his production house, Raaj Kamal Films, in legal disputes. Most recently, he argued for the screening of Thug Life in Karnataka after the film became embroiled in controversy following Haasan’s remarks on the origins of the Kannada language.
Parasaran has also appeared for the actor in cases linked to the 2020 accident on the set of Indian 2, which resulted in three deaths.

Parasaran studied law at the Campus Law Centre in Delhi and later enrolled as an advocate with the Tamil Nadu Bar Council. In a previous column, he recalled how an administrative oversight during his student years nearly prevented him from sitting his examinations, an issue that was later resolved.
As the court prepares to hear final arguments in the censor certification case on Thursday, expectations remain high among Vijay’s fans, many of whom are placing their hopes on Parasaran’s legal defence of Jana Nayagan.
