The release of Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan has run into trouble, and actor Ravi Mohan has responded with a deeply emotional note of support. Taking to his official X account, Ravi Mohan said he is “heartbroken” over the situation and openly declared that he stands with Vijay during the ongoing release crisis.

"Heartbroken @actorvijay Anna.. as a brother I’m standing with you as one among the millions of brothers beside you. You don’t need a date.. you are the opening. Whenever that date is.. Pongal only starts then. #istandwithvijayanna," he wrote.

The message has gained attention not just for its emotional tone, but because Ravi Mohan is one of the lead actors in Parasakthi, a film that was expected to compete with Jana Nayagan at the box office. The movie also stars Sivakarthikeyan and Atharvaa. Despite being in a potentially rival release, Ravi Mohan chose to set competition aside and publicly express solidarity with Vijay.

With this post, Ravi Mohan has become the first major Tamil actor to extend direct support to Vijay over the release issue. Earlier, director Ajay Gnanamuthu had also voiced support for the star.

Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, was planned as a Pongal release. However, production house KVN Productions announced that the film will not release as scheduled, citing the delay in obtaining censor certification. A new release date will be announced soon.

The censor board had decided to send the film to a revising committee after complaints that it might hurt religious sentiments. Alleging that the certification was being unfairly delayed, the producers approached the Madras High Court. After hearing the case, the court reserved its verdict, leading the makers to postpone the release.
