This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” emphasised the interconnectedness of personal well-being and planetary health, resonating strongly with stars who have long advocated for yoga as a way of life.

From public gatherings to peaceful home practices, these celebrities shared their commitment to yoga, inspiring millions to step on the mat and start their own journeys.

Mohanlal

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal celebrated the day by participating in a special event at the CIAL Hall in Nedumbassery, Ernakulam. Organised by the Vishwashanthi Development Foundation, the “Be a Hero, Say No to Drugs” campaign saw the actor perform yoga alongside children. His involvement highlighted the role of yoga not just in personal health, but also in youth awareness and social messaging.

Anupam Kher

Veteran actor Anupam Kher attended the grand celebration held at Times Square, New York, where around 10,000 participants from across the globe joined seven yoga sessions organised by the Indian Consulate in New York and the Times Square Alliance. Speaking at the event, Kher reflected on his personal connection with yoga, saying, “I'm extremely happy to be at the world's most iconic place, Times Square, on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day… It's a very important message not only for physical health but also for mental health.” The Times Square event marked a major international highlight of the day, reinforcing the global reach of Yoga Day since its UN-backed inception in 2015. 

Suresh Gopi

Union Minister and actor Suresh Gopi marked the occasion by performing yoga at a scenic event held at Kochi's Bolgatty Palace. The session was organised by the Union Ministry of Tourism as part of the nationwide celebrations.

Hema Malini

BJP MP and legendary actress Hema Malini joined the yoga celebrations in Mathura and used the occasion to stress the importance of regular practice. Sharing her own experience, she told the media, “Everybody should do yoga. Yoga is important for our lives… I have a slight knee problem, and I am not able to do some asanas perfectly, but I do Yoga.” Her comments mirrored the spirit of this year’s theme, promoting both inclusivity and persistence in yoga practice.

Malaika Arora

Fitness icon and actress Malaika Arora, known for championing yoga as part of her daily lifestyle, shared a powerful message with her followers on Instagram. “Yoga isn’t just for a day. It’s for life. so start your day with yoga, end with peace and gratitude. Happy International Yoga Day,” she wrote.

Nikita Dutta

Actress Nikita Dutta, who recently gained attention for her film ‘Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins’, also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message. “If I had to point at one thing that kept my life going, it would be yoga. It’s never too late to embrace this practise. Happy yoga day,” she wrote. Along with the post, she shared glimpses of her yoga routine, showcasing elegance and mindfulness in every pose.

Vidya Malavade

Actress Vidya Malavade, admired for her disciplined approach to fitness and yoga, actively participated in the day’s celebrations by teaching a yoga session at DLF Mall of India in Noida. Actress Neha Dhupia marked International Yoga Day 2025 with a heartfelt post on Instagram, sharing photos of herself performing asanas like Kakasana, Vrksasana, headstand, handstand, and Kapotasana — all alongside her daughter Mehr. Describing her child as her “world,” Neha wrote, “I do yoga with my world … also #yoga changed my world …. Actress and fitness icon Shilpa Shetty marked International Yoga Day 2025 by sharing a powerful video on Instagram, performing yoga and voicing a message about balance and well-being. In the voiceover, she reflected, “Balance isn’t a hidden treasure that can be discovered easily—it’s something you create through conscious choices and consistent daily habits…” She further emphasised that “gratitude is the highest form of yoga”, encouraging followers to live mindfully. Her caption echoed the day’s global theme, “When we have just ONE of something, we MUST value it… Balance is the key to maintaining the equilibrium between mind, body and soul.” Shilpa’s message was a blend of mindfulness, self-care, and responsibility toward holistic health.

Actress Kangana Ranaut also marked the 11th International Yoga Day by sharing photos of herself performing yoga asanas on her Instagram stories. Known for advocating a mindful lifestyle, Kangana has often spoken about how yoga helps her maintain mental clarity and physical balance.

Actors Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani marked International Yoga Day 2025 by taking part in the Fit India Cult Yogathon held in New Delhi. The large-scale event, led by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, brought together yoga enthusiasts, athletes, and celebrities to promote holistic health and fitness. The couple, known for their dedication to wellness, participated in the group yoga session alongside hundreds of others. Several videos from the gathering were shared by paparazzo accounts.

Hina Khan

Actress Hina Khan, who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, marked International Yoga Day 2025 by sharing peaceful images of herself practising yoga in a serene setting. In her caption, she wrote, “Yoga with a perfect view. Yog, breath work, meditation is everything. Be good to yourself.”

Rajkummar Rao 

Actor Rajkummar Rao took to Instagram to share his reflections on yoga as part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 celebrations. Posting serene pictures of himself in meditative poses, he wrote, "Gratitude. Discipline. Stillness. Yoga gives me all three. This #IDY2025, let’s flow together as one..." He also thanked the Income Tax Department Mumbai and the Ministry of Ayush for inviting him to the event.
