Mrunal Thakur clarifies dating rumors with Dhanush, calling him `just a good friend.` Find out what sparked the speculation and her response.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur has finally addressed the rumours linking her to Tamil star Dhanush. Speculation around a possible romance began after the two were spotted together at several public events.
However, Mrunal has now denied any romantic involvement. In a statement to Only Kollywood, the Sita Ramam actress said, “I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it.” She added that Dhanush is “just a good friend” of hers.
Did Mrunal invite Dhanush to the ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ screening?
Mrunal, who stars in Son of Sardaar 2, clarified that it wasn’t she who invited Dhanush to the film’s screening. She explained that it was actually co-star Ajay Devgn who extended the invitation, and urged people not to overanalyse the actor’s presence.
What sparked the dating speculations?
Rumours intensified after Mrunal attended the wrap-up party for Dhanush’s upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Aanand L Rai. Things escalated when the two shared a brief moment at the Son of Sardaar 2 screening, where Dhanush was seen holding her hand, an image that quickly went viral.
Mrunal also referred to Dhanush as her favourite actor and was seen vibing to his chartbuster Why This Kolaveri Di. Additionally, fans noticed she had started following his sisters on Instagram, further fueling speculation.
Despite the buzz, Mrunal has firmly denied any romantic link with Dhanush. “We are just friends,” she said, seemingly putting an end to the speculation, for now.
For those unfamiliar, Dhanush was previously married to filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth, daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. The couple, who have two sons: Linga and Yatra, ended their 18-year marriage in 2022.
