New Delhi: Five years ago, fans in a theatre in India celebrated Thor's entry in "Avengers: Infinity War" by throwing popcorn into the air, creating an unforgettable moment that actor Chris Hemsworth described as something he had never seen before. "I love India. I love Indian fans," said the Hollywood star, noting that the footage from that screening comes to mind whenever he visits India. 

India is also the location where he filmed a significant portion of his 2020 movie "Extraction." Reflecting on his experience, Hemsworth recalled the iconic "Bring Me Thanos" moment from "Infinity War." He remembered seeing footage of the audience in India tossing popcorn on the chairs, emphasising, "I'd never seen anything like it. Every time I go to India, I think of that moment."

In this scene, Hemsworth portrays Thor, making a dramatic entrance during a battle and challenging the enemy with "Bring Me Thanos," directed at the film's main antagonist, Thanos. This moment is considered one of the highlights of his role as the superhero, which he has played in four standalone films and four "Avengers" movies.

The Hollywood superstar is now part of another beloved franchise, "Transformers." He lends his voice to Optimus Prime in "Transformers One," and he hopes the film resonates with Indian audiences in a similar fashion. Released in Indian theatres last week, "Transformers One" serves as a prequel to the franchise's earlier live-action films that depict the ongoing conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons, two factions of alien robots capable of transforming into vehicles and machines.

Hemsworth remarked that the animated film has a "similar energy" to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He stated, "The themes in there are relatable to audiences across the globe. And it has a great sense of humour and a huge amount of heart, visually stunning. This film really is epic and we're all incredibly proud of it."

Touted as the "first-ever fully CG-animated 'Transformers' movie," it explores the untold story of the friendship between Optimus Prime and Megatron before they became sworn enemies leading their respective factions. Hemsworth mentioned that after recently watching the film, he was amazed by what director Josh Cooley achieved. 

"(It's) why you go to the cinema, the transportation to another universe and to be swept up with larger-than-life characters, but have them also be relatable. I think people in India are going to love it," the actor said. 

"Transformers One" features voice talents including Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. The film from Paramount Pictures India is currently showing in theatres in English and Hindi, available in 2D, 3D, 4DX, and IMAX formats. PTI
