Bollywood actress Hina Khan has opened up about her cancer battle, drawing inspiration from Sanjay Dutt’s journey as a survivor. Diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer last year, Hina shared her admiration for the veteran actor, who fought stage 4 lung cancer and defied expectations with his resilience.

In a heartfelt social media post, Hina praised Sanjay Dutt’s extraordinary strength, recalling a video where he spoke about undergoing chemotherapy while maintaining an unbreakable spirit. She highlighted how he was even able to endure physically demanding routines, including hanging upside down for six hours post-treatment.

“This is the first time I am seeing this clip, what a courageous man, what an inspiration,” Hina wrote. “I absolutely agree and practice it myself too. This is what I believe in, this is exactly how I chose to live my life during my chemotherapy. I resonate with every word he’s saying.”

Hina reflected on her own battle, emphasising that fighting cancer is not just about medical treatments but also about mental determination. “It’s never easy to push yourself when the entire world seems to be pulling you the other way. But I chose this just like him, unknowingly yet I did.”

She acknowledged that every cancer journey is unique, and while some patients fight through immense physical challenges, others may struggle differently. “I always say this is my personal journey. This is how I chose to deal with it. This is my body’s capacity, my individual story,” she explained, adding that determination played a crucial role in her fight.

At the same time, Hina expressed deep respect for those who face their battles differently. “Not everyone can take the same approach. I bow in respect to those who tried, those who fought with everything they had, and those whose bodies didn’t allow them to fight the way they wanted. They are all warriors.”

She also recognised the courage of everyday heroes—doctors battling their illnesses while treating others, individuals who continue working to support their families, and cancer fighters like Rebecca Sperry, who hiked during chemotherapy, or Fabiola Enriques, who ran marathons.

“There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to chemotherapy,” Hina concluded, acknowledging that even two patients with the same diagnosis can have vastly different experiences. “For some, it may feel like a walk in the park, while for others, it’s an excruciating journey. But every fighter deserves recognition.”

Hina Khan’s powerful words serve as an inspiration to many, proving that resilience and determination can make a difference in even the toughest battles.
