The Vishu season in Kerala has been brightened not just by cinema, but by the infectious camaraderie of its stars. During a promotional event for the newly released psychological comedy thriller Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil, acclaimed director and actor Dileesh Pothan left the audience in splits with a witty remark about his co-star Kunchacko Boban’s legendary "evergreen" status.

Addressing the crowd with Kunchacko Boban standing right beside him, Dileesh Pothan joked about the actor's uncanny ability to remain a youthful icon across generations.

“It has been nearly 30 years since I graduated from college,” Dileesh Pothan remarked. “Even back then, it was the ‘young star’ Kunchacko Boban who had come to inaugurate our arts festival. If you go home and ask your parents or other elders about their college fests, chances are Chackochan was the one who inaugurated theirs too!”

The humorous jab at Kunchacko Boban’s timelessness quickly went viral across social media, highlighting the actor’s unique position in Malayalam cinema since his debut in the late 90s.

In the film, directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, Kunchacko Boban portrays ‘Sethu,’ a staff member at a public health centre in Tholpetty and an avid radio listener.

Apart from Kunchacko Boban and Dileesh Pothan, the film features an ensemble cast including Sajin Gopu, Chidambaram, Jaffer Idukki, and Rajesh Madhavan.

Produced jointly by Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames and Kunchacko Boban’s Udaya Pictures, Oru Durooha Saahacharyathil is one of the major releases this Vishu, bolstered by the undeniable chemistry of its cast both on and off the screen.
