Actor Rajesh Keshav spends two months in Vellore Medical College recovering, with friends and family offering prayers, love and hope for his return to stage and screen.

A friend has shared an update on actor and host Rajesh Keshav, who collapsed during a programme and has been undergoing treatment. Prathap Jayalakshmi, a close friend and colleague, wrote on Facebook that Rajesh Keshav, who was initially admitted to a private hospital in Kochi, will have spent two months at Vellore Medical College by Friday. He also expressed hope that he would soon be active again on stage and in films.
Rajesh collapsed during a programme at a private hotel in Kochi and was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Maradu. He suffered a heart attack upon collapsing. After being stabilised, he underwent angioplasty and was later moved to a ventilator. Once stabilised, he was transferred to Vellore Medical College for specialised care.
The full Facebook post reads:
"Dear Rajesh Keshav, tomorrow marks two months since you arrived at Vellore Medical College, enduring 87 days of pain in this bed.
I told him about his record-breaking film 'Loka', which grossed 300 crore, his beloved Mammootty returning to health and continuing his work in cinema, and Lalettan receiving the Phalke Award. What he didn’t know was that his scenes in 'Ottakompan' with Suresh Gopi had to be skipped due to his condition. Suresh Gopi has assured that the first show when Rajesh returns will be for him. I also shared news of the release of 'Innocent' and the anticipation around his upcoming film 'Vadakkan Therottam'—all to lift his spirits.
We have been sharing stories of cinema, music, travels, friendship and even food to keep you engaged and active. The doctors say the results are visible; it is making a difference. Visits from friends and attempts to rouse him have created remarkable changes. We are grateful to those who make the time for this.
Since Sreeraman went to the forest retreat, leaving everything behind, Sita and Lakshman have stayed with him for the past three months. The love, care and selfless support from Sindhu and Rupesh are irreplaceable in this lifetime. Alongside them, doctors and therapists at CMC provide strength, patience and support, offering immense hope.
Please continue your prayers and love. Apologies for not being able to respond personally to everyone’s affection. After this forest retreat, he should have to return. He will return. I, like everyone else, await the days when my dear friend once again dances across the stage and screen. Thank you, with love and prayers."
