Raj and DK’s acclaimed spy-thriller series The Family Man is prepping for the release of its third season, with Manoj Bajpayee reprising the role of the celebrated ‘family man’-cum-spy Srikant Tiwari. 

Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur are to play the villains. Viewers get only brief, intriguing glimpses of the new antagonists in the trailer.

Ahlawat gained praise for his performance in Paatal Lok, another Prime Video series, which recently saw the successful release of a second season. Kaur is familiar to audiences through her roles in films such as The Lunchbox and Airlift and the American espionage thriller series Homeland. The teaser promises action alongside emotion.

Prime Video released a 58-second teaser on Friday, which has already crossed a million views on YouTube. The teaser promises intense action along with more light-hearted scenes, such as Srikant claiming to be a “Life and Relationship Counsellor” to a stranger while Suchitra (played by Priyamani) rolls her eyes. Ardent fans of the show would get the joke, knowing how their relationship has suffered over the last two seasons.

Season 3 will also see the return of the beloved supporting cast, including Priyamani, Ashlesha Thakur, and Vedant Sinha as Srikant’s family members. Other key cast members spotted in the teaser include Sharib Hashmi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Neeraj Madhav, which is bound to amp up anticipation for the long-time followers of the series.

The Family Man has become one of Prime Video’s most beloved franchises over the globe, according to Nikhil Madhok, Director & Head of Originals at Prime Video India. He spoke about the massive demand for the series: “We’ve been flooded with requests for Season 3 ever since viewers wrapped up Season 2," he said.

Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, with a geopolitical angle involving the northeast alongside uncertainty regarding Srikant’s and Suchitra’s relationship. The new season is expected to take these forward, since the new teaser indicates a timeline spanning 2019 to 2025. Fans eagerly await the announcement of an official release date.
