Is Salaar 2 delayed? New update on Prabhas`s sequel and other projects like Fauji & Raja Saab.

Speculation has been rife about whether Prabhas has put the second instalment of ‘Salaar’ on the back burner. Multiple reports have suggested that the pan-India star is currently prioritising his standalone projects including 'The Raja Saab' and ‘Fauji’, leading to the delay of big-ticket sequels like ‘Salaar 2’ and ‘Kalki 2’.
However, amidst the swirling rumours, Mathrubhumi English has exclusively learnt a key update regarding the actual status of ‘Salaar 2’, bringing much-needed clarity to the buzz surrounding the project.
Denying reports about Prabhas putting the ‘Salaar’ sequel on hold for him to be able to focus on his standalone projects, a source close to the development of the movie told Mathrubhumi English that the reports claiming a delay in ‘Salaar 2’ over other projects are false.
The source went on to add that the filming for ‘Salaar 2’ will commence again in October. He said that a portion of the film ‘Salaar 2’ has already been shot, and the remaining portion will be resumed from October.
He also stressed that Prabhas is giving priority to completing the remaining days of shooting of 'The Raja Saab'.
Furthermore, the source told that the ‘Kalki’ actor will be shooting multiple films in between. He said that Prabhas always shoots for multiple movies and that he will be shooting for ‘Fauji’ and ‘Salaar’ too, and if Sandeep Venga Reddy starts shooting, he will give some days in a month to ‘Spirit’ as well.
The source also spoke about when ‘Kalki 2’ will go on floors, saying that a few days in between, Prabhas will also give 'Kalki 2', which may start from early next year.
Written and directed by Prashanth Neel, 'Salaar' features Prabhas in the titular role alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film also features Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy, among many others.
The first part of the movie, titled 'Salaar: Part 1 – Ceaserfire', was released in cinema halls on December 22, 2023. It emerged as the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2023 and the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of the same year.
Originally made in Telugu, it was released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam. Its second part, 'Salaar: Part 2 - Shouryaanga Parvam', is expected to release in 2026.
