Ed Sheeran teases new song ‘Sapphire’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Arijit Singh

Mumbai: Global music sensation Ed Sheeran is stirring up excitement for his upcoming single ‘Sapphire’, and he’s doing it in true desi style!
The singer dropped a teaser on Instagram on Monday, giving fans a glimpse of the vibrant new track and his adventures in India.
Bollywood meets British pop
In the teaser, Sheeran shares fun behind-the-scenes clips featuring none other than Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan and musical maestro Arijit Singh. The video shows SRK singing parts of Sapphire, while Sheeran and Arijit sip coffee on a barge, casually vibing. The camaraderie is real, and the internet can’t get enough.
Embracing Indian vibes
What’s even more impressive? Sheeran goes full desi. From singing in Hindi to getting a Punjabi tattoo, trying out Indian instruments, and grooving with college students to a desi dance number—he’s clearly loving every bit of the culture.
Part of his upcoming album ‘Play’
‘Sapphire’ is the third single from Sheeran’s much-anticipated album Play, following the success of Old Phone and Azizam. The new song is set to release on June 5, 2025, and judging by the teaser, it’s going to be another global hit with a local twist.
SRK & Sheeran’s bromance goes way back
This isn’t Sheeran’s first Bollywood bromance moment. He previously visited SRK’s iconic Mumbai home, Mannat, where they struck SRK’s signature pose together and set social media ablaze. Fans still remember their Instagram post with the caption: “This is the Shape Of Us spreading love.”
Last year, Sheeran even performed a private concert at SRK’s residence. With ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ playing in the background and both stars dressed in their signature casual-cool styles, fans were treated to an unforgettable cultural crossover.
