Kochi: A public spat between film producers Sandra Thomas and Vijay Babu has erupted on social media, with both industry figures trading barbs on Facebook over ongoing disputes related to the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) elections.

The exchange follows growing tensions surrounding the election process, in which Sandra Thomas has raised legal objections. The conflict has now taken a personal turn, spilling into the public domain.

The latest war of words began after Vijay Babu posted a cryptic Facebook message, widely interpreted as a veiled criticism of Sandra Thomas. At the end of the post, Vijay wrote, “Thankss sandra….. I love animals .. they are more trustworthy than humans ..”

In response, Sandra posted the following remark on her Facebook page, “Vijay Babu can trust the dog, but the only concern is whether the dog will trust Vijay Babu.”

Vijay Babu quickly replied with another post, sharing a photo of a dog and writing, “When the partnership was dissolved… I adopted one instead of you . Yes Sandra you are right . It is more trustworthy than you.”

He also added, “I do not have time to respond to Sandra’s dog show.”

Legal setback for Sandra Thomas in KFPA election dispute

Amid the social media exchanges, Sandra Thomas faced a legal blow as the Ernakulam Sub Court rejected her petitions concerning the upcoming KFPA elections.

She had filed three separate pleas, requesting:

  • A stay on the presidential election
  • A change of the returning officer
  • Appointment of an advocate commission to oversee the poll.

All three demands were dismissed by the court.

Reacting to the verdict on Facebook, Sandra stated, “The verdict was unexpected and disappointing.” She also noted that she would consider future legal steps after consultation, maintaining that her nomination was wrongly disqualified and asserting her eligibility to contest for executive positions.
