Ilaiyaraaja moves Madras High Court alleging unauthorised use of his song ‘Siva Rathiri’ in Vanitha Vijayakumar’s film Mrs & Mr, demands its removal.

Chennai: Legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja has approached the Madras High Court with a petition alleging that one of his songs was used without permission in the newly released Tamil film Mrs & Mr. The film, directed by actress Vanitha Vijayakumar, was released on Friday.
The petition claims that the film features the song ‘Siva Rathiri’ from the 1990 classic Michael Madana Kama Rajan, in which Kamal Haasan famously played four roles. Ilaiyaraaja argues that the song was used in a distorted form without obtaining proper authorisation.
In his plea, Ilaiyaraaja has demanded that the song be removed from the film immediately. The music director has also previously taken legal action against other films, including the Malayalam hit
Manjummel Boys, for allegedly using his compositions without permission.
