Christopher Nolan and Tom Holland arrive in Mumbai ahead of the India premiere of ‘The Odyssey’, marking the first official India premiere of a Nolan film.

New Delhi: Oscar-winning filmmaker Christopher Nolan and Hollywood actor Tom Holland arrived in Mumbai on Friday ahead of the India premiere of their much-awaited film The Odyssey.
The visit marks a significant moment for Indian cinema audiences, as The Odyssey becomes the first Christopher Nolan film to have an official premiere in India.
Mumbai joins global premiere tour
Nolan, accompanied by his wife and producer Emma Thomas, was seen arriving at Mumbai's Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Videos circulating on social media also showed Tom Holland greeting photographers outside the hotel before heading inside.
Actor Matt Damon, who plays the lead role in the film, has also arrived in Mumbai as part of the global promotional tour.
Universal Pictures International has included Mumbai as an official stop on the film's global premiere circuit, alongside London, Paris and New York.
India premiere on Saturday
The India premiere of The Odyssey will take place on Saturday at PVR Icon IMAX, Phoenix Palladium in Mumbai.
The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 17.
A modern retelling of Homer's epic
Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is an epic action drama based on Homer's ancient Greek poem, which follows Odysseus' decade-long journey home after the fall of Troy.
Matt Damon stars as the legendary Greek hero Odysseus, while Tom Holland plays his son, Telemachus.
The film also features an ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron and Samantha Morton.
Produced by Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner, The Odyssey is the first feature film to be shot entirely using IMAX cameras across multiple international locations.
