Mumbai: Singer Chinmayi Sripaada has strongly defended actor Arjun Kapoor against online bullying after his emotional tribute to his late mother Mona Shourie Kapoor sparked widespread discussion about sustained trolling in the entertainment industry.

Chinmayi reshared a viral post highlighting how Kapoor has been repeatedly targeted across social media, not just for his films but also for his personal life and even his existence. Reacting to the post on X, she wrote, “These men are trash,” calling out what another user described as “performative cruelty” and a lack of emotional awareness online.

The original message pointed out that Kapoor has faced mockery under almost every post, warning that people often pretend to care only when things spiral too far. It also criticised the tendency to shift blame onto women — girlfriends, co-stars or ex-partners — instead of addressing toxic online behaviour.

The renewed trolling followed Kapoor’s heartfelt note shared on his mother’s birth anniversary, where he reflected on a tough phase in his life. “Life’s been kinda cruel to me lately but it’s ok… I’ve taken the punches before I’ll take em again & still rise…,” he wrote, crediting his mother for teaching him resilience and dignity.
