Four Cascio siblings detail years of grooming and sexual abuse by Michael Jackson. Read the full report on their lawsuit against the estate and find out more.

Four members of the Cascio family, long regarded as part of Michael Jackson’s inner circle and often described as his “second family”, have accused the late pop icon of sexually abusing them during childhood, while also alleging they were groomed to publicly defend him against earlier claims.
In a detailed interview published by The New York Times, Aldo, Eddie, Dominic and Marie Nicole Cascio said their years-long relationship with Jackson involved manipulation, control and abuse. The siblings have now filed a lawsuit against Jackson’s estate, marking a major shift from their earlier public stance in support of the singer.

The Cascios said that beyond the alleged abuse, they were conditioned to act as loyal defenders of Jackson during periods of intense scrutiny. Eddie Cascio said the singer coached them on how to respond when allegations surfaced, reinforcing a sense of duty and silence. “We were brainwashed, we were groomed,” he told the publication, describing how Jackson’s influence shaped their reactions for years.
The family’s connection to Jackson dates back to the 1980s, when their father, Dominic Cascio, managed a luxury hotel in New York where the singer frequently stayed. The relationship deepened over time, with the children visiting Jackson’s Neverland Ranch and, in some instances, travelling there without their parents.
Despite maintaining a close bond and defending Jackson publicly, including appearances after he died in 2009, the siblings now say they felt emotionally dependent on him. They described him as a figure who filled multiple roles in their lives, offering companionship and support while blurring personal boundaries.
Not all members of the family are part of the legal action. Frank Cascio, who previously wrote a memoir portraying Jackson in a positive light, has declined to join the lawsuit, citing legal reasons. In his 2011 book, he maintained that the singer had never behaved inappropriately toward him or his siblings.
The siblings said their understanding of their experiences evolved. While some questioned the nature of their relationship with Jackson earlier, others pointed to the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland, which featured similar allegations from two men, as a moment that prompted reflection.
Jackson consistently denied accusations of sexual misconduct during his lifetime and was acquitted in a widely publicised 2005 criminal trial. His estate has continued to reject allegations made after his death.
