A variety of genres hit the box office this week with the release of 'Ajayante Randam Moshanam', 'Kishkindha Kaandam', and 'The Buckingham Murders'. These films are drawing attention for their compelling plots and performances, and early box office numbers suggest an exciting competition for audience attention.

According to Sacnilk, 'Ajayante Randam Moshanam', released on September 12 and directed by Jithin Lal, has lived up to its hype as an action adventure film. It collected Rs 2.9 crore on the first day, with its India net collection over the weekend standing at Rs 19.35 crore, while the worldwide total reached an impressive Rs 50 crore. 

The narrative centers on three main characters and a small village that is deeply committed to safeguarding a sacred idol. The movie delves into the importance of this idol and its relationship with the characters, gradually uncovering its full significance as the story progresses. The ensemble cast features talented actors such as Basil Joseph, Krithi Shetty, Rohini, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Jagadish, among others. 

Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, 'Kishkindha Kaandam' was released on September 12. It opened with modest numbers, garnering just Rs 45 lakh on its first day. By the weekend, the film’s worldwide collection crossed Rs 13.5 crore, with Rs 65 lakh collected on the second day, Rs 1.35 crore on the third day, Rs 1.95 crore on the fourth day, and Rs 2.5 crore on the fifth day in India. 

In the monkey-inhabited village of ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’, a series of strange and unexplained events disrupt the peace, leading a newlywed couple and a group of forest officials on a quest to uncover the cause behind these mysterious disturbances. Starring Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan, and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles, the film promises an intriguing blend of suspense and adventure set against a unique backdrop.

'The Buckingham Murders', released on September 13 and directed by Hansal Mehta, started well at the box office, earning Rs 7.75 crore worldwide, with Rs 6.05 crore from India. The day one and day two collections were Rs 52 lakh and Rs 1.95 crore, respectively, while day three saw a rise to Rs 1.43 crore, day four stood at Rs 80 lakh. 

In ‘The Buckingham Murders,’ a detective grappling with the loss of her own child to murder relocates to a new town, only to find herself investigating the case of a missing child. The film delves into deep themes of trauma, grief, the immigrant experience, and the search for closure. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan as Jasmeet Bhamra, a British-Indian detective, the crime thriller also features Ranveer Brar, Keith Allen, and Ash Tandon in key roles, weaving a compelling narrative of suspense and emotional depth.
