Kochi: The Cyber Police in Kakkanad, Kochi, have apprehended two individuals linked to the piracy of the film "Ajayante Randam Moshanam," starring Tovino. The suspects, identified as Praveen Kumar and Kumresan from Tamil Nadu, were arrested in Bengaluru.
Investigations revealed that the pirated copy was filmed at a theatre in Coimbatore, with connections to members of the Tamil Rockers group. When arrested, the suspects were found in possession of a pirated version of "Vettaiyan," a film released just the day before, featuring Rajinikanth.
Authorities suspect that there may be additional accomplices involved in the case. The investigation was initiated based on a website that circulated the pirated content. The actions were prompted by complaints from the film's director, Jithin Lal, and producer, Listin Stephen.
The pirated version of "Ajayante Randam Moshanam" surfaced on Telegram just two days after its release. Director Jithin Lal had shared a scene on social media showing an individual watching the film on a mobile phone during a train journey. Following this, he lodged a complaint with the Kochi Cyber Police. Previously, the Cyber Police had arrested an individual for uploading a pirated version of the film "Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil”.
