Aliya Fakhri, the sister of Rockstar-fame actor Nargis Fakhri, has been arrested in connection with the deaths of her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs (35) and his friend, Anastasia Ettienne (33). The tragic incident occurred in Queens, New York, where a two-story garage was set on fire, leading to the victims' deaths.  

According to reports, the fire reportedly broke out early on November 2. According to witnesses, Aliya (43), arrived at the garage and shouted, “You’re all going to die today,” targeting Jacobs, who lived upstairs. A witness who heard the commotion saw flames engulfing the building shortly after.  

District Attorney Melinda Katz revealed that Jacobs was asleep at the time. A witness at the scene recounted smelling a sweet burning odor and seeing a couch on the stairs engulfed in flames. The witness had to jump over the fire to escape. Although Ettienne initially escaped with the witness, she returned to rescue Jacobs but was unable to make it out alive.  

Aliya Fakhri has been indicted on four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and arson. If convicted on the most serious charge, she faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. She is currently in custody, with her next court appearance scheduled for December 9.  

The District Attorney described the crime as a deliberate act, saying, “This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno.”  

Reports suggest that Jacobs and Aliya had ended their relationship a year ago. Aliya reportedly struggled to accept the breakup and had previously threatened to burn down Jacobs’ house. Their relationship was described by some as abusive.  

Jacobs’ mother confirmed that the relationship between her son and Ettienne was purely platonic. Jacobs, a plumber, had been working on converting the garage into an apartment, which became the site of the devastating fire.  

As per repoerts, Nargis Fakhri has not commented on the incident. However, her mother expressed disbelief at the charges, describing Aliya as someone who cared deeply for others. She also revealed that Aliya struggled with opioid addiction following a dental procedure, which may have affected her behavior.  

The shocking crime is believed to have stemmed from jealousy.
