Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, directed by Girish A.D., will release in theatres on August 21, 2026, as a major Onam festive entertainer from Bhavana Studios.
The makers of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit have officially announced that the much-awaited Malayalam entertainer will hit theatres on August 21, 2026, coinciding with the Onam festive season. Starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in their first on-screen collaboration, the film is expected to be one of the major Malayalam releases of the festival period.
Alongside the release date announcement, the makers unveiled a new poster featuring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju walking along a railway platform carrying their luggage, hinting at a light-hearted journey at the heart of the story. The film is being promoted as a romantic comedy packed with humour and family entertainment.

The film is directed by Girish A.D., who has established himself as one of Malayalam cinema's most successful young filmmakers with acclaimed hits including Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, Super Sharanya, and the blockbuster Premalu. Expectations are high as Bethlehem Kudumba Unit marks his latest directorial venture after the success of Premalu.
The project also marks Nivin Pauly's first collaboration with Bhavana Studios, the production house behind Premalu. It is Bhavana Studios' sixth production and the first film produced by the banner after the commercial success of Premalu.
The film is produced by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran under the Bhavana Studios banner, while the screenplay has been jointly written by Girish A.D. and Kiran Josey.
Apart from Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, the film features an ensemble cast including Sangeeth Prathap, Suresh Krishna, Bindu Panicker, Vinay Forrt, Roshan Shanavas, Shyam Mohan, Shameer Khan, Srinda, Parvathy Ayyappadas and Meenakshi Raveendran.
Principal photography was completed over more than 100 days across multiple locations, including Chalakudy, Pollachi, Goa, Hyderabad and Kuttikkanam.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Ajmal Sabu, music composer Vishnu Vijay, editor Akash Joseph Varghese, lyricist Vinayak Sasikumar, stunt choreographer Action Santhosh, and makeup artist Ronex Xavier.
With a popular cast, a successful director and the festive Onam release window, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is expected to be one of the most anticipated Malayalam films of 2026.
