There have been calls to ban the Tamil film Bad Girl following accusations that it portrays schoolgirls in a negative light. Both the Nadar community and the Tamil Nadu Brahmin Association have submitted petitions to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin requesting the film's prohibition. In connection with the matter, the Brahmin Association has sent a legal notice to the film's producer, Vetrimaaran.

The controversy surrounding Bad Girl intensified after the release of its teaser. The Nadar community, in their petition, highlighted the inappropriate depiction of schoolgirls in the teaser, claiming it portrayed them in an extremely negative manner. They also alleged that the film features scenes where the younger generation discusses sexuality, consumes alcohol, and engages in sexual activities with friends—content that they believe is deeply distressing for parents.

The Brahmin Association further claimed that the film's protagonist is a Brahmin student who is shown taking the wrong path. They argued that the film seems to intentionally insult the community and, in doing so, could lead to ridicule of Brahmins among students. The organisation expressed concerns that such depictions could contribute to caste-based divisions and animosity.

The Brahmin Association has called on the Chief Minister to prevent the release of films that perpetuate cultural degradation, especially in a state where women are traditionally revered as mothers and goddesses. Bad Girl, directed by Varsha Bharath, is produced by Vetrimaaran and Anurag Kashyap, and has been criticised for allegedly insulting religious/caste sensibilities. Previously, some, including producer Mohan G, had also expressed concerns over the teaser's content.
