Dubai: Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar is preparing to compete in the 24-hour endurance race, 24H Dubai 2025. Marking his return to the racing track after 13 years, Ajith is set to race in the competitive Porsche 992 class alongside teammates Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux and Cameron McLeod under the banner of his own team, Ajith Kumar Racing.

In an interview during the qualification sessions, Ajith addressed his dual career in acting and racing. He affirmed that he would not sign any new film projects until the racing season concludes. “I will not commit to any films until the racing season is over. From October to March, I plan to focus primarily on films. No one needs to worry—I will continue acting,” Ajith reassured.

Reflecting on his racing journey, Ajith revealed, “I started motorcycle racing in India at 18 but had to pause due to work commitments. I returned to motorsport in 2002 at the age of 32, transitioning to four-wheelers." Since his return, he has competed in various national championships in India and international events such as the Formula BMW Asia Championship (2003) and British Formula 3 (2004).

Ajith also participated in the European Formula 2 series in 2010 but faced challenges balancing racing and his acting career.

Recently, a training session video showed Ajith’s car colliding with a safety barrier at 180 km/h, causing considerable damage. However, Ajith escaped unscathed and is determined to excel in the upcoming competition.

Ajith’s return to racing is seen as a bold move to balance his passion for motorsport and his acting career, solidifying his reputation as a multi-talented personality.
