
Mumbai: Actor Rashmika Mandanna expressed immense joy at having the opportunity to portray the character of Maratha Queen Yesubai Bhonsale in the upcoming film Chhaava. She shared that, after playing the role, she wouldn't mind retiring from acting and finding contentment in this achievement.
In the film, directed by Laxman Utekar, Rashmika stars opposite actor Vicky Kaushal, who plays the lead role. Rashmika referred to portraying Yesubai Bhonsale as an honour and a privilege.
"This is a great honour. Being a girl from South India, being able to play Maharani Yesubai is one of the biggest opportunities of my lifetime. I told Laxman sir that after this, even if I retire from acting, I would be content," Rashmika said at the Chhaava trailer launch event. She added, "I’m not someone who cries often, but this trailer made me emotional. Vicky is like God, he is Chhaava."
The recently released trailer offered a glimpse into the grandeur of the film, assuring a visual treat for the audience. Vicky Kaushal portrays the legendary Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, in this historical drama, further raising excitement for the film's release.

Earlier, the film was scheduled to release in December; however, due to a clash with the release of Pushpa 2, the film’s release date was postponed. Chhaava will now hit theatres worldwide on February 14.
Music by A.R. Rahman is another key highlight of the highly anticipated movie. Apart from Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, the film also features an ensemble cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Sunil Shetty in key roles.
The film’s release coincides with Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti on February 19. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the movie. (With inputs from Agencies)
