New Delhi: Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has approached a Mumbai court, filing a domestic violence case against her husband, Austrian entrepreneur and hotelier Peter Haag.

The complaint, alleging domestic violence, cruelty, and manipulation by Peter Haag, was presented for verification before the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) SC Tadye in Andheri.

The court later issued a notice to Haag and posted it for a hearing on December 12.

The 47-year-old actor claimed she has suffered severe emotional, physical, sexual and verbal abuse by her husband because of which she was forced to flee her home in Austria and return to India.

"The respondent (Haag) is a narcissistic, self-absorbed individual. He has a short temper and alcoholic tendencies, which have consistently caused the applicant (Jaitly) stress," the plea stated.

Celina and Peter Haag were married in 2011 in Austria. The couple became parents to twin boys in March 2012. In 2017, Celina gave birth to a second set of twin boys, one of whom tragically passed away due to a hypoplastic heart condition.

Known for her roles in films such as No Entry, Apna Sapna Money Money, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, Golmaal Returns, and Thank You, Celina has recently been in the news for legal proceedings related to her family.

The plea further stated that Haag had filed a divorce application before a court in Austria in August this year. Jaitly has sought a direction that her estranged husband pay a sum of Rs 50 crore as compensation and Rs 10 lakh per month as maintenance.

Last month, Celina Jaitly approached a Delhi court seeking assistance for her brother, Major (Retired) Vikrant Jaitly, alleging that he was “illegally abducted and detained” in the United Arab Emirates.

She shared a post on social media with a long note, expressing her concerns and stating, “It is not personal anymore, it has become an issue of national security.”

Her post followed the Delhi High Court’s recent notice to the Central government, directing it to submit a status report within four weeks regarding Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly’s situation.

Celina had petitioned the court, requesting proper legal and medical support from Indian authorities for her brother. In response, the court ordered the appointment of a nodal officer to monitor the case and provide regular updates on Major Jaitly’s condition.
