Kochi: Actor Bala has been booked for fraud and forgery based on a complaint filed by his ex-wife, singer Amrutha Suresh. The case was registered by Kadavanthra Police.

According to media reports, Amrutha’s complaint stated that Bala forged her signature on their divorce settlement. She also alleged that one of the pages in the agreement was fabricated. Additionally, the complaint states that Bala failed to pay the insurance premium as per the settlement terms and misled the Kerala High Court by submitting forged documents.

Amrutha’s complaint also alleges that Bala committed fraud related to their daughter’s insurance, withdrew ₹15 lakh from her bank deposit, and fabricated fake documents.

Earlier, Bala was arrested following Amrutha’s complaint, accusing him of defaming her on social media. She had previously stated that she endured severe mental and physical abuse during their marriage.

Bala and Amrutha got married in 2010 after meeting on the reality show Idea Star Singer. However, the couple legally separated in 2016.
