Thiruvananthapuram: Police have taken Parvathi Maya Shaji, Chief Executive Officer of recruitment agency Amster Overseas, into custody in connection with alleged overseas employment fraud. She was intercepted at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport upon her arrival from abroad.

The detention follows complaints alleging that Maya defrauded job seekers by promising overseas employment in Poland and Armenia. According to First Information Reports (FIRs), the agency unlawfully collected approximately ₹10 lakh from victims. She has been named as the primary accused in two separate cases registered at the Palarivattom police station in Kochi.

Amster Overseas maintains its registered office in Kottayam alongside branches across Kochi, Kattappana, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Bengaluru. The agency also operates international branch offices in Oman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Nepal. Maya faces charges in both fraud cases.
