Thiruvananthapuram: ‘Janaki Jaane’, starring Navya Nair and Saiju Kurup, bagged the Vayalar Ramavarma Award for Women Empowerment - Socially Relevant Film. The award is instituted by the Vayalar Ramavarma Cultural Centre. 

‘Janaki Jaane’, written and directed by Aniesh Upaasana, had hit the theatres in May 2023. The film is produced by Shenuga, Shegna and Sherga and is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. 

The award will be distributed at a ceremony scheduled to be held at Nishagandhi in September this year.
