Los Angeles: The 67th Grammy Awards have been transformed by the Los Angeles area wildfires — but the show is already highlighting the city's resiliency. The award show kicked off Sunday night at LA's Crypto.com Arena in high spirits, drawing attention to first responders and the resilience of the music community.

Randy Newman's 'I Love L.A.' kicked off the ceremony with a powerful opening performance by Dawes, whose members were directly affected by the Eaton Fire. They were joined by John Legend, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Brittany Howard, and St. Vincent.

Other prominent contenders this year include Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Taylor Swift.

Indian-origin musicians such as Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal, Radhika Vekaria, and Chandrika Tandon have also received nominations. The event is being hosted by TV personality and writer Trevor Noah. In India, the ceremony is available for live streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 6.30 am onwards.

More than 94 prizes will be handed out over the course of the night.
