After weeks of mounting tension, ‘From’ Season 4 has finally given its biggest chapter yet. The finale doesn't simply end another season; it completely reshapes the story before the series heads into its already-confirmed fifth and final season.

While the episode answers a few long-standing questions, it also raises even bigger ones. Major characters are lost, alliances change, the town becomes more vulnerable than ever and the battle against the mysterious force controlling everything takes a dramatic turn. It's a finale that has left fans equally thrilled, heartbroken and deeply divided.

What happens in the ‘From’ Season 4 finale?

The finale picks up with Jade and Tabitha trapped inside the underground tunnels after retrieving the mysterious bones that many believe could be key to breaking the town's curse. Their escape plan quickly falls apart when the Bottle Tree is destroyed, triggering chaos across the town. As darkness suddenly falls in the middle of the day, the creatures are no longer confined to the night, pushing the residents into one of their most dangerous situations yet.

Elsewhere, tragedy strikes at the clinic when Smiley returns. Mari is killed in one of the episode, while Fatima's disturbing transformation takes another terrifying step forward. Instead of attacking her, Smiley calls her "Mother," hinting that Fatima is becoming something significant than anyone imagined.

The finale also shows just how dangerous Sophia truly is. Working in the background while everyone is distracted, she steals the town's protective talismans, leaving every home exposed. In the closing moments, she dumps the talismans into a Farway Tree after a conversation with the Boy in White, confirming that the conflict between them is over.

What does the ending mean?

The biggest revelation this season is that the creatures themselves may never have been the true villains. Instead, they appear to be tools controlled by a much larger force, with the mysterious Man in Yellow as the real mastermind behind everything happening in the town.

The destruction of the Bottle Tree, the disappearance of the talismans, Fatima's transformation, and the growing importance of the underground bones all suggest that the rules governing the town are changing. The residents are finally confronting whatever created this nightmare in the first place.

Why Season 4 has divided fans

One of the biggest conversations surrounding Season 4 is about the season as a whole.

Many longtime viewers felt earlier seasons built their identity around nighttime terror. That survival horror aspect created tension.

Season 4 deliberately moved away from that formula.

Instead of focusing on monster attacks, the story spends much more time exploring the mythology of the town, the Man in Yellow's manipulation, and the larger mystery connecting its residents. For some fans, this has been exactly what they've been waiting for after years of unanswered questions.

Others, however, feel the slower pacing reduced the suspense that originally made ‘From’ so addictive. Across fan discussions online, many viewers have praised the deeper lore while others argue that certain storylines took too long to reach their payoff.

Both perspectives are understandable.

If someone started watching From because of its horror and survival elements, Season 4 naturally feels different. But if they were invested in uncovering the town's secrets, this season is a turning point.

What we know about Season 5

Fortunately, fans won't be left wondering whether the story will continue. MGM+ renewed ‘From’ for a fifth and final season before Season 4 even premiered.

The creators have already suggested that the final season is story's "endgame," promising long-awaited answers while staying true to the ending they originally envisioned when the series began.

That means Season 5 is expected to focus on whether Boyd, Tabitha, Jade, Victor, Donna, and the remaining residents can finally escape or whether the town claims them all.

The finale certainly leaves plenty of questions behind. Can the stolen talismans be recovered? What role will Fatima now play among the creatures? What power do the mysterious bones actually hold? And perhaps the biggest mystery of all: can the Man in Yellow truly be defeated, or has he always been several steps ahead?

Whatever the answers may be, one thing is clear. ‘From’ is no longer a survival story. It has entered its final act, where every revelation and every loss will shape how one of television's most intriguing mysteries finally comes to an end.
