Yuliya Musakovska is an award-winning Ukrainian poet, writer, and translator. She is a member of PEN Ukraine. She has published six books of poetry in Ukrainian, including Men, Women and Children (2015), The God of Freedom (2021), and Stones and Nails (2024). Her book The God of Freedom was released in English translation from Arrowsmith Press (Boston, U.S.) in 2024.
Yuliya received numerous literary awards in Ukraine, including the prominent Smoloskyp Prize for Poetry (2010) and the Dictum Prize (2013). Yuliya's poems have been translated into Malayalam by Ravi Shanker and K C Muraleedharan and published in Poetria. Her current focus is Ukrainian contemporary military poets. In 2023, she launched a project with the University of Exeter team to translate and promote Ukrainian wartime poetry. Her translation of Artur Dron’s full-length collection We Were Here into English was released from Jantar Publishing (UK) in 2024.
In 2023, she paused her 20-year IT and international business career to dedicate herself to literary work and cultural activism. She lives in Lviv, Ukraine, and has remained there throughout the war.
