Mary Chamberlain

"Mary Chamberlain, a renowned novelist and historian, gained international acclaim with her debut novel, ""The Dressmaker of Dachau"" (2015), published in 19 countries. As Emeritus Professor of Caribbean History at Oxford Brookes University, her influential academic works include ""Fenwomen"" (1975), a pioneering feminist publication, and ""Empire and Nation-building in the Caribbean"" (2010). Chamberlain, a pioneer of oral history, holds degrees from the University of Edinburgh and the London School of Economics, and in 2022 received an honorary doctorate from the University of East Anglia."
