K Rekha was born at Irinjalakkuda in Thrissur in 1975. Rekha started writing in the children’s column of Mathrubhumi Periodicals while studying in sixth standard. Her story ‘Mruthivritham’ won a prize in the Mathrubhumi Vishu Edition literary competition organised in 1994, when writer Kunjunni Master was its editor.
Her major works include Aarudeyo Oru Sakhav, Prakash Rajum Njanum, Malini Theatres and Rekhayude Kathakal. She was honoured with Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for short story, Geetha Hiranyan Award of Kerala Sahitya Akademi and Avanibala Literature Award.
