Thiruvananthapuram : In his candid talk at MBIFL, screen writer, producer, director and actor Ranjith revelled through his journey in the Cinema world. Journalist K. Vishwanathan spoke to the director at the session.

Ranjith reminisced his earlier days of cinema life and shared that he feel ashamed of his earlier superstar commercial movies when he thinks of the dialogues in the movie. It was a period of writing to win his bread and hence the need took him to commercial and illogical writings.

His later movies, ‘Thirakkadha’ and ‘Spirit’ are the best of his movies. Actor Mohanlal’s favourite Mammootty movie is 'Pranchiyettan and the Saint' which was conceived at Ranjith’s Cairo visit when he happened to think of the medium of communication between God and Human.

Script is the base of any movie and it is an important aspect. He might add and delete scenes which aren’t present in the script but without script, he finds it difficult to direct.

He is hopeful that the present generation will take Cinema to greater heights as they create realistic pictures. He praised the movie ‘Thanneermathan Dinangal'. When thoughts are genuine, different and new creative strategies will emerge and nothing will prevent from the emergence of genuine thoughts.
